NFL’s Kayshon Boutte glad to be back

New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte spoke of his delight at being back to playing football after charges against him for gambling were dropped earlier this month.

Boutte was arrested in January over accusations he had placed over 8,900 bets while under the legal gambling age of 21 in his native Louisiana. However, the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division dropped those charges in July.

Speaking to reporters after the fourth day of Patriots’ training camp, Boutte labelled his actions as a “dumb decision”. He also said he was glad to be focusing on football again, admitting he needs to “stay away” from gambling.

Betway becomes global betting partner of Man City

Betway has been named as the new official global betting partner of reigning Premier League champion Manchester City, its parent company Super Group announced on Friday (26 July).

Man City and Betway marked the multi-year agreement with leading figures from the two sides being present at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) bell-ringing ceremony on Friday.

Super Group CEO Neal Menashe said the move will allow Betway to access fans “in all corners of the globe”.

New York bill to extend ad restrictions to online filed

New York Assemblyman Clyde Vanel has launched a bill that would amend the state’s laws to extend its advertising restrictions to online sports betting operators.

Vanel’s bill seeks to amend Section 1363 of the New York Racing, Pari-Mutuel Wagering and Breeding law to cover online sports wagering operators alongside gaming facility licensees.

Currently, land-based gaming facilities in New York must advertise in a factual manner without misleading anyone. They must also not show anyone gambling under the age of 21. Additionally, the advert must clearly display the gambling helpline.

King Gaming’s Isle of Man licence cancelled amid probe

King Gaming has had its Isle of Man licence cancelled by the island’s Gambling Supervision Commission. The termination comes amid a probe into the company’s dealings.

According to Isle of Man Today, police raided two of King Gaming’s premises in April. This followed allegations of fraud and money laundering. Police arrested a total of 10 people before releasing them on bail as part of the investigation.

King Gaming has now had its licence terminated. The Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission explained it was in the “public interest” to halt the company’s licence.
